Hospitality and Outdoor- New Vacancy- Environmental and Facilities Manager Large Luxury Safari Property- Kruger Park Busy property in the heart of Kruger park is recruiting for an Environmental Manager who implements, maintains and continuously improves the Quality Assurance Program and ensures compliance of the property. A very technical job but very satisfying in such an environment!
Requirements:

  • BTech/ Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree in Natural Sciences or equivalent (NQF6)
  • Minimum 4 yearsxe2x80x99 relevant experience, preferably with exposure to the renewable energy sector
  • Computer literate- must be able to generate reports, set up frameworks etc
  • Up-to-date and demonstrated knowledge of relevant HSE legislation
  • In-depth knowledge of Environmental legislation and practices (NEMA, EIAs, EMP, Waste Management, ISO apply below Implementation, etc.).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant OHS legislation (OHS Act and Regulations, COIDA, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of environmental frameworks and very good system implementation skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills- can work in a limited and remote environment and plan around these shortcomings for optimum effectiveness
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills; clear and concise expression of ideas or information.
  • Good inter-personal skills; able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, to accomplish organisational goals and identify and resolve problems.
  • Well-organised, with a high level of attention to detail
  • A valid driverxe2x80x99s license
  • Preference will be given to SA citizens

Description:
  • Implement systems, procedures and methodologies to enhance environmental performance, including air quality, water management, waste management, legal compliance, biodiversity, reporting and ISO apply below compliance.
  • Interpret and monitor current and future legislation, national and international initiatives and trends and ensure compliance.
  • Develop and implement action plans and methodologies which will assure the optimum environmental management, minimizing legal and financial liabilities.
  • Identify environmental high-risk areas requiring attention, develop appropriate action plans and implement recommendations.
  • Ensure that environmental permits and licenses are in place and obligations are implemented.
  • Develop appropriate environmental training and awareness initiatives and present such initiatives where appropriate.
  • Categorise incidents in accordance with the incident reporting system. Implement appropriate corrective measures using the correct investigation and reporting procedures. Conduct trend analysis on environmental incidents, including making recommendations to management regarding preventative measures.
  • Implement and monitor all OHS management systems on site, including, but not limited to OHS guidelines, objectives and practices.
  • Provide OHS training, awareness and induction on site to staff, contractors another relevant parties.
  • Maintain and analyse OHS statistical records, such as incidents, accidents, near misses and working hours on site.
  • Assist with implementation of emergency and crisis management plans on site.
