Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced Enterprise Cloud Architect to join the Cyber Pro Consulting Team with the following skills:

Qualification/s (NQF level / Diploma / Degree)

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Information technology or computer science
• 10+ years experience in Enterprise application development and architecture

Preferred:

• Cloud-related certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certified Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect.

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture and technology

Advantageous experience (not a disqualifier):

• Understanding waterfall and agile methodologies

Skills (Technologies, systems or software knowledge, etc.):

• Development languages (e.g. Java, COBOL)
• Databases (e.g. DB2, Oracle, SQL)
• Application Servers (e.g. IBM WebSphere)
• Scripting languages, Terraform, ARM, YAML

Key Responsibilities: (Day to day duties)

• The architect would be expected to create and document a comprehensive architecture design for cloud-based enterprise applications aligning with the banks strategic objectives.
• This would include defining the infrastructure, security, networking, cloud-related DevOps, and application components necessary to meet the organization's business requirements.
• Cloud Modernization Strategy: The architect would be responsible for developing and executing a strategy for modernizing and migrating existing applications to the cloud. This would involve assessing the current application architecture and identifying any modifications or optimizations required to enable successful migration.
• Application Development Standards and DevOps: The architect would be expected to define and enforce standards for application development and deployment in the cloud. This would include defining development methodologies, deployment processes, and testing frameworks to ensure consistent and reliable application delivery.
• Cloud Security and Compliance: The architect would be responsible for ensuring that cloud-based enterprise applications comply with relevant security and compliance standards. This would involve defining and implementing security controls, monitoring and logging mechanisms, and disaster recovery processes to ensure the integrity and availability of the applications.
• Performance and Scalability: The architect would be responsible for designing and implementing a secure, scalable, and performant infrastructure for cloud-based enterprise applications. This would involve defining and optimizing resource allocation, network architecture, and load-balancing mechanisms to ensure that applications can handle expected user loads and performance requirements.
• Cost Optimization: The architect would be responsible for ensuring that cloud-based enterprise applications are cost-effective and optimized for the organization's budget.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends, and make recommendations on how they can be leveraged to improve the bank's cloud application architecture. This includes the emerging architectures for private, public, and hybrid cloud scenarios
• Governance for cloud standards including the architectures for multi / hybrid cloud implementations and tooling
• Cloud DevOps standards and tooling applicable to Azure, AWS, and IBM
• Governance for Cloud Standards
• Identity and access management (IAM) standards
• Infrastructure standards
• Integration standards
• Network standards
