Role: Cloud Architect - Storage and Virtualisation
Location: Work from home, however you do need to be living in one of the following major cities: Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban

Purpose of the role:
To establish the company as a frontrunner in technology and guarantee ongoing competitiveness through the advancement, enhancement, and effective oversight of technological systems within the infrastructure settings. This approach will primarily centre around virtualization and storage, encompassing backup infrastructure and beyond.
Responsibilities:

• Research, design and build infrastructure technology according to industry and company standards.
• Proactive in approach to solving potential issues
• Improving systems by scrutinising performance and providing recommendations
• Product development on all infrastructure
• Comply with relevant standards such as ISO27001, ISO9001, ITIL, COBIT, IETF, IEEE and RFC
• Create relevant documentation including operating and maintenance manuals, capacity management guidelines, SOP, etc.
• Provide support to the teams that will deploy and operate these designs.

Qualifications:
Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree or equivalent - Essential
Virtualization Certificate (VMware/Redhat/Microsoft) - Essential
Storage systems certifications/courses - Essential
Enterprise class hardware certifications/courses - Desirable
Networking certifications (CCNP/JNCIP) - Desirable

Skills and experience required:
5-7 years of experience as a BSD/Linux/Windows/Solaris systems administrator
7-10 years progressively increasing responsibility in computer operations, network and systems administration, and systems engineering
2-3 yearsxe2x80x99 customer support experience
Proven experience in storage infrastructure design, implementation, operations and maintenance.
Senior level knowledge of storage platforms, EMC, Netapp, etc.
Senior level knowledge of virtualization technologies, VMWare, KVM, XEN, Hyper-V, etc.
3-5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience building and maintaining FC networks.
Excellent ethernet networking skills.
Excellent understanding of software defined networking.
Excellent understanding of backup technologies such as Veeam, Avamar, BackupExec, etc.
Excellent understanding of scripting, PowerShell, and Python.
