Enterprise Architect Architect
Cape Town - Western Cape - South Africa

We're in search of an Enterprise Architect who will be a key player in crafting and implementing cutting-edge IT infrastructure solutions for clients. Your wealth of expertise will be pivotal in shaping the technological landscape, guaranteeing the scalability, reliability, and security of clients' infrastructure. In close partnership with diverse teams, from client stakeholders to project managers, engineers, and operations experts, your role will be to deliver top-notch solutions that harmonize seamlessly with clients' business goals.

You need 5+ years hands-on infrastructure architecture experience, preferably in a managed service provider setting coupled with strong knowledge of servers, storage, networking, virtualization, security, and cloud tech especially Microsoft (Azure/M365). Relevant certifications: Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert and/or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert.

Area: Johannesburg or Cape Town

Salary: Up to R100 000 pm ctc

Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Design: Craft infrastructure solutions aligning with clients strategic goals, covering data center, cloud, security, hardware, software, and network elements.
• System Architecture: Define complex project architectures, considering performance, security, scalability, and cost.
• Technology Evaluation: Assess emerging technologies for infrastructure enhancement, feasibility, and implementation recommendations.
• Infrastructure Planning: Collaborate to identify requirements, capacity, and roadmap, guiding upgrades, enhancements, and migrations.
• Infrastructure Implementation: Lead projects for data center, virtualization, storage, network, security, and cloud solutions.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure solutions meet security and compliance requirements, applying industry best practices.
• Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed infrastructure documentation, including diagrams and specifications.
• Collaboration and Leadership: Work with cross-functional teams, mentor junior architects, and support problem resolution.
• Troubleshooting: Assist in resolving complex infrastructure issues, including root cause analysis.
• Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.

Requirements:

• 5+ years hands-on infrastructure architecture experience, preferably in a managed service provider setting.
• Strong knowledge of servers, storage, networking, virtualization, security, and cloud tech.
• Expertise in designing complex, scalable, high-availability infrastructure.
• Cloud experience, especially Microsoft (Azure/M365).
• Proficiency in design tools like Visio.
• Familiarity with IT service management (e.g., ITIL) and project management methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications: Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert and/or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert.

Desirable (not Essential):

• Additional 7+ years infrastructure experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Strong security knowledge, NIST/CIS familiarity.
