About Us
The Company is a multidisciplinary engineering firm with head office based in Pietermaritzburg, KZN. We are recruiting for a 12-month Labour-Intensive Construction (LIC) bridge project for the Nqushwa Local Municipality, approximately 80 km from East London. Accommodation will be provided and approved travel expenses will be paid.

Project Details:

• Client Area: Nqushwa Local Municipality (80 km from East London)
• Project Duration: 12 months (estimated)

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: B Eng, BSc Eng or BTech (Civil) from a recognized South African institution
• Professional Registration: Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of post-graduate site experience.
• Training: Labour-Intensive Construction unit standard at NQF Level 7 (SAQA-accredited).

• Experience: Successfully executed at least TWO (2) bridge construction projects in a lead/site representative capacity.
• Availability: Full-time site presence for the contract duration

:

• Act as the Engineers Representative on the LIC bridge project and administer the contract (e.g., GCC).
• Plan and coordinate construction to achieve scope, programme, quality, safety and environmental targets.
• Maintain records/measurements and support payment certification and reporting.
• Engage with Employer, Contractor and community structures in line with LIC principles.
• Apply the HN Quality Management System (QMS) in all work
• Facilitate monthly reports and co-ordinate with all engineers site staff and related resources.

• Proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable leading on site.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Able to mentor and guide junior personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision of daily works, quality control, quantity measurements and verification.
• Review method statements, programmes and HSE documentation.
• Stakeholder coordination and issue resolution.
• Progress, payment and close-out documentation.

Annual Guaranteed Package (AGP):

• Salary: Market-related salary guaranteed, discussed with shortlisted candidates.
• Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus paid in December, based on employee and company performance.
• Vehicle Use: Compensation for personal vehicle use at Department of Transport prescribed rates, updated monthly.
• Telecom Services: Approved monthly claims for private cell phone use (voice & data) if required for specific projects.
