DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will oversee the operation and maintenance of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure for Data Centers (DC) in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud regions. Our technicians are operating and maintaining AWS DCs' world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure. In addition to technical operations and maintenance, the successful candidate will oversee facility operations and ensure the implementation of safety procedures.

The role requires a motivated, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to problems while striving for operational excellence. The work follows a process-oriented approach: the individual needs a strong willingness to learn new processes and adapt to rapidly changing operational scenarios with conflicting priorities.

The successful candidate will be part of the Engineering and Facilities team and will be responsible for; maintaining availability for customers; ensuring maintenance and operation of technical infrastructure; and the upkeep and operation of the DC facility.

Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. As a facility owner team, ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster strong safety culture.

xefx82xb7 ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS's), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers.
o Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA's) o Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
o Supervise contractor or Engineering Operations Technicians to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment.
o Driving continuous improvement efforts on infrastructure through standardization of procedures and policies, while delivering performance against agreed metrics.
o Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and assist in recruiting efforts.
o Lead the root cause analysis for operational issues, and conduct meetings with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to finalize mitigation strategies.

xefx82xb7 Ability to work 12hr shifts, rotating between working days and nights, as per the prescribed company shift pattern.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

xefx82xb7 Completed formal education/ diploma in an electrical field and/ or Apprentice/trades certified
xefx82xb7 Very good command of English (CEFR B2)
xefx82xb7 Proficient with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word) and web-based operational tools.
xefx82xb7 Proficient with Change Management Systems (CMS) and Ticket Systems.
xefx82xb7 4+ years of job-related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

xefx82xb7 5+ years of Data Center/ mission critical engineering experience
xefx82xb7 5+ years of Job-related experience
xefx82xb7 Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
xefx82xb7 Familiar with Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) control systems and data collection/trending.
xefx82xb7 Highly proficient in written and spoken English
