To lead, plan, and manage the engineering function to ensure that all plant, equipment, and systems are designed, maintained, and operated safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. The Engineering Manager is responsible for driving technical excellence, continuous improvement, innovation, and compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies.

Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & fabrication).
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Define clear objectives, priorities, and development plans for team members.
Develop and implement the engineering strategy aligned with company goals.
Oversee capital projects, equipment upgrades, and plant modifications.
Manage engineering budgets (capital and operational expenditure).
Forecast resource requirements and manage contractors and suppliers.
Ensure effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs are in place.
Drive equipment reliability and availability through data-driven performance monitoring.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Ensure all engineering activities comply with statutory requirements (e.g., OHSA, General Machinery Regulations, Pressure Equipment Regulations).
Manage risk assessments, safe work procedures, and engineering controls.
Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications in accordance with standards.
Ensure projects meet quality, cost, safety, and schedule targets.
Collaborate with procurement, finance, and operations for project execution.
Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, cost savings, and sustainability.
Evaluate and adopt new technologies that enhance operational performance.
Liaise with operations, production, SHEQ, finance, and external regulators.
Provide technical support and guidance to other departments.
Represent the engineering function in audits, inspections, and management meetings
Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12
N Diploma/B.Eng./B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge of production & warehouse processes
Must be able to read and interpret P&IDs/vessel drawings
SAP Maintenance
Strong understanding of OHSA, General Machinery Regulations, Pressure Equipment Regulations, ISO standards
* Must be proficient with Delta V
