Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager to lead and oversee our engineering department. The role is responsible for managing all engineering activities, including maintenance, projects, design, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven leadership skills, and the ability to align engineering operations with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage all engineering and maintenance activities.
• Oversee the design, installation, commissioning, and optimization of plant and equipment.
• Drive preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime.
• Manage capital projects from feasibility to execution within scope, budget, and timelines.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, legal requirements, and safety regulations.
• Develop and monitor departmental budgets, cost control, and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and operations teams to ensure seamless plant performance.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, innovation, and efficiency.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and contractors.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree / National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8-10 years' engineering experience, with at least 3-5 years in a management role.
• Proven track record in managing engineering functions in [manufacturing / mining / FMCG / heavy industry].
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards, project management, and maintenance best practices.
• Experience in CAPEX project management and budget control.
• Familiarity with SHEQ systems, OHS Act, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and engineering software/tools; CMMS experience advantageous.
