WHAT IS YOUR ROLE

As an Engineering and Business Analytics Senior Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive BI and analytics strategy that aligns with the organization's overarching goals. To lead our engineering team and oversee data-driven initiatives. The Senior Manager will play a key role in advancing our technical capabilities and using data analytics to inform business strategies. This role involves providing strategic leadership and direction to the BI and engineering team and fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. You will oversee the development and maintenance of data warehousing, ensuring the accuracy, availability, and security of data, and will be a champion for data governance and quality across the organization. In addition to data management, you will lead the design and development of analytical models and dashboards to support various business functions and ensure the delivery of accurate and timely reports to stakeholders. This role is crucial in working closely with executive leadership, providing insights, and making recommendations that enable informed decision-making.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • You will drive the adoption of data-driven approaches and methodologies across different departments and will be instrumental in mentoring and developing BI team members, promoting their professional growth and enhancing their skills.
  • Lead and manage the engineering team, including software developers, data engineers, and other technical staff.
  • You will assess and mitigate risks associated with BI activities and will report on the performance of BI solutions regularly.
  • You will also manage resource allocation, project timelines, and deliverables and will evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors and partners. This includes negotiating contracts and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services. Staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in BI and analytics is crucial for this role.
  • Regularly benchmark the organization's BI practices against industry best practices and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Conduct Return on Investment (ROI) analyses to measure the impact of BI initiatives and projects.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of technical systems and infrastructure.
  • Drive the development of data analytics strategies and solutions to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize data analytics projects.
  • Develop and maintain data analytics dashboards and reports for business insights.
  • Mentor and guide team members in engineering and analytics best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and technical innovation.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices in engineering and data analytics.
  • Establish and manage project timelines and budgets.
  • Provide strategic guidance on technology and data initiatives.

Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with a Master's degree being preferred.
  • +10 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field is required
  • Experience in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as SQL, Python, or data visualization tools.
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI and data warehousing technologies is essential, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to drive data-driven strategies.
  • Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive BI and analytics strategy aligning with organizational goals.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are crucial for this role, as is the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
