EMAIL MARKETING SPECIALIST

ReturnX is looking for a driven individual to join our young dynamic team based in Johannesburg, South Africa with a global client base.


As an Email Marketing Specialist, you will work closely with other members of the Sales and Marketing Teams as well as the wider company to create effective and beautiful marketing campaigns to drive revenue and overall growth of our consumer market research business unit in line with overall business strategy.


Success in this position requires the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, hands-on, outstanding communication skills, creativity, and self-motivation. EDUCATION

A degree / qualification in marketing and/or content writing would be beneficial

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

Have a minimum of 3 years experience managing promotional and automated email programmes along with having worked in an email marketing role previously. Advanced working knowledge of GetResponse and/or MailChimp or similar platforms. Experience in audience research and segmentation. Experience in Email Marketing Strategy. You have excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written. Advanced knowledge of Email template creation, Email flow creation, Email automation. Adept at data analysis and data management Coding experience is a plus You thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, non-bureaucratic and high-energy environment. Basic design skills to allow you manage digital assets within email and social channels. Excellent understanding of email optimisation to maximise user experience, audience data segmentation, A/B and multivariate testing and reporting. Must be a self-starter who is happy to own and drive the email programme while having an open and collaborative approach to working with stakeholders. You have great communication skills and love working as part of a Team. Must be able to work remotely with a strong and stable Internet connectivity (fibre is a plus) and have your own laptop.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Be the primary email expert within the company shaping, developing and managing email as a key digital channel. Creating engaging email copy that is in line with our brand tone of voice (Simple, clean and friendly email communication). Creating engaging marketing and promotional content with CTA (Click Rate 5%+ and low Bounce Rate). Creating catchy email Titles and Previews (Open rate 20%+). Ongoing growth of email marketing as a revenue generating and communication channel. Ongoing increase of the email subscriber base of the company. Ongoing optimization of existing email flows and creation of new email flows. Ongoing optimisation of email marketing KPI's, such as open, click and conversion rate. Creating engaging marketing copy to support product launches and promotions (boost engagement, generate traffic). Manage and deliver a supporting programme for social and blog content
Develop and manage automated email campaigns to support multiple new campaigns including lead generation, referral campaigns, brand awareness
