Electronic Engineering Technician

Job Description

A well established organisation which manufactures electronic equipment for the minining industry has a vacancy for an Electronic Engineering Technician in the Pretoria Branch.
The successful Candidate will be responsible for conducting repairs, testing PCB's and systems, providing technical support and managing tasks both in the workshop and production line. Occasional field work may be required.
Perform component-level repairs and calibration of electronic equipment.
Provide on-site field service, commissioning and troubleshooting systems.
Support Clients with technical inquiries and offer solutions.
Assist with new projects and manage project workflows.
Train junior technical staff and field personnel.
Consult with Clients and internal teams to improve systems and services.
Manage workshop and field activities, including project co-ordination and supervision .
Design and develop test jigs and written procedures for technical processes.
Maintain organized records for technical documentaqtion and client communications.
Minimum of 2 years experience in component level repairs and technical support.
Experience in reading and interpreting circuit and wiring diagrams.
Matric.
S1 - S4 / N4 to N6 Qualification in Electronics (not Electrical).
PCB fault-finding experience.
Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators and other diagnostic tools.
Proficiency in soldering Surface-Mount Devices (SMD) components.
Must have a valid drivers licence and own transport.
