Is this you?You are a detail-oriented professional with at least 8-10 years of consulting engineering experience in the building services environment. You're confident in your ability to independently manage electrical designs, calculations, and construction monitoring. You're also excited by the opportunity to work on PV systems and have a solid grounding in standby power, lighting, fire detection, and building management systems. With excellent communication skills and strong project coordination capabilities, you enjoy interfacing with clients and professional teams.What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it)You'll be responsible for delivering accurate and comprehensive electrical designs and calculations, managing project financials, and performing diligent construction monitoring throughout the project lifecycle. Youll work collaboratively with Engineers across multiple disciplines and actively participate in the design and coordination process. You'll contribute to marketing efforts and client engagement, prepare tenders and fee proposals, and manage internal project financials. It's an environment where you'll be supported in your growth while contributing meaningfully to impactful projects.What you'll needTo be considered, you'll need a BSc Eng. or BTech in Electrical Engineering, along with registration as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA. Registration as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech would be highly advantageous. You should have at least 8 years' consulting engineering experience specifically within the building services environment. Experience in MV design is essential, while SAQCC registration for Design would be a bonus. Proficiency in Revit and BIM tools such as Navisworks, Glue, and Field is preferred. You should be well-versed in relevant SANS standards (such as 10142-1&2, 10139, 10114) and familiar with standard building contracts like JBCC, Fidic, NEC, and PROCSA. Strong technical skills using AutoCAD, electrical software such as Relux, Dialux, ABB Web Design, EcoStructurel, or Amtech, and high proficiency in Microsoft Office tools are essential. To thrive in this role, you must be independent, detail-focused, and capable of managing your time effectively while delivering quality designs.
