Job Description

A reputable telecommunications company in Midrand is looking for a qualified Electrical Engineer who can ensure proper installations, oversee the commissioning process and assist with solutions in their product portfolio. ECSA registration as a PrEng is preferred, but relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer will suffice.

Minimum requirement

• B.Eng. or B.Tech. Electrical Engineering Degree.
• Registered with ECSA as Pr. Eng or Pr. Tech. (Negotiable if you have experience in renewable energy).
• Solar PV Design training (Advantageous).
• Min 3 yearsxe2x80x99 work experience.
• Registered with ECSA to be able to sign off on engineering projects. (Beneficial)
• Experience in designing Power Factor correction systems.
• Driver's licence and vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site audits for the design of Solar PV systems, creating BOQs and combining them into a proposal.
• Conduct measurement audits for sizing and dimensioning of technical solutions (UPS, Generator, Inverter, battery storage, solar PV, etc.).
• Develop projects and present them to clients.
• Assist the Sales and Business Development team with the design, scoping, and costing of solutions.
• Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
• Completing technical studies and preparing cost estimates.
• Project management on key projects, managing contractors, procurement of material, invoicing, etc.
• Staying up to date with industry trends and advancements and integrating them into design processes.
• Execute all tasks according to company quality standards and uphold workmanship standards as per company procedures.
• Abide by all Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Cooperate with seniors to assist in operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Stakeholders internal and external

• Foster and improve customer relationships.
• Foster and improve internal staff relationships.

Operational Performance

• Ensure compliance with the relevant SANS electrical codes and standards.
• Comply with all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the Company.
• Ensure that if there are internal or external escalations the escalations happen as quickly as possible and with all relevant information.

• Ensure that all jobs, projects, or calls are delivered within scope, time, cost, and quality to meet customer needs and requirements.
• Identify where cost savings can be implemented.
• Identify new opportunities at a customer that are chargeable.
• Identify new products and solutions.
• Contribute to growing the power business.

Salary dependent on experience.
