Electrical Engineer - Port lizabethFull job descriptionOverviewLead, manage and prioritise Electrical, Electronic, Automation and Process operations to achieve operational objectivesMaintenance and asset care planning and execution of electrical and C&A equipmentLead improvement and optimisation strategies for elec. infrastructureResponsibilitiesPlanning and ProceduresProvide input into and implement systems, procedures, and policiesPlan team activities and advise on prioritisation of activitiesProvide input into and manage budget, as delegated by managerEnsure availability of, allocate and monitor use of assets/ resourcesPerform relevant HR / supervisory functionsIdentify gaps in current policies, procedures and legislation and propose process, tool, technique and product changes/ improvementsElectrical Engineering & Calibration and MaintenanceFacilitate, implement, and manage Elec, C&A & CAL projectsIdentify and motivate for technical CAPEX projectsEnsure integrity and reliability of production system architectureDevelop fault finding procedures, installation and document standards and instrumentation protocolsMaintain, back up and ensure integrity of production dataPerform maintenance on electrical infrastructureLead RCFA for incidents to identify true root cause of failuresLead CAPAs; address operational risk of electrical root cause failuresLead development of a systematic Elec, C&A & CAL infrastructure maintenance strategy to optimise operations, reduce operation downtime and associated cost due to failuresIdentify and implement operational and maintenance changes to address specific process unit problemsDevelop and coordinate and monitor implementation of preventative maintenance and calibration plans/ programsDetermine critical spares requirements for the plantGovernance, Risk and ComplianceEnsure electrical maintenance is performed in accordance with relevant regulations, policies, procedures, schedules, and work ordersManage and review Certificate of Compliance for new and existing electrical installationsRecord and ensure availability of technical drawings, programs and specifications documentationMonitor and correct own and/ or team compliance with legislation, policies and proceduresMonitor and control storage and access to information, and set-up of electronic databases to ensure legal complianceMaintain records of asset care documentationBackground/experienceMinimum of National Diploma in Mechatronics /Electrical /Electronic Engineering with 6+ yearsxe2x80x99 related experienceExperience in factory maintenance and fault finding in Pharmaceutical ManufacturingSpecific job skillsAdvanced knowledge of maintenance and monitoring programmes, tools, techniques, and systemsSpecialised knowledge of Instrument and Control calibrationsKnowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, standards, and compliance requirementsAdvanced technical background in Good Engineering PracticesAbility to interpret and implement policies, processes, and objectivesCompetenciesInterrogating InformationOffering InsightsFinalising OutputsAccountability & Decision RightsDepartmental and/ or project related results, costs, methods, staffing, managerial planning, and integrationWorking on and leading complex and high impact projects, serving as a team leader, technical advisor, or process ownerDeliver service or support at the expert levelIndependently implement appropriate policies and proceduresEscalate out-of-policy mattersDecisions related to:Products, services, implementing new programmes and supporting technical/ operational processesUse of resources to meet defined objectives and timelinesInitiation of changes to processes, procedures and policies that impact immediate operationsNon-routine issues and daily priorities for a work group, with moderate impact on operations within a departmentCorrection and/ or containment of errors of significant impact (financial loss, customer business, downtime)
