Lead Electrical Engineer - Mining - Northern Cape

Our client, an International Mining House where an opportunity exists for a dedicated, hardworking, and enthusiastic and results driven individual to join one of their mines based in the Northern Cape. They are offering a rewarding and exciting opportunity within the mine for an experienced individual with a proven track record in the category of Electrical Engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of electrical projects related to the Process Plant.
• Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to.
• Ensure goals and objectives are met in a timeous manner.
• Lead the electrical activities at construction site.
• Understand the overall legal and electrical requirements for timing of construction activities in order to meet project requirements.
• Must have knowledge of the Electrical Quality Assurance and Inspection systems.
• Continuous monitoring of electrical activities at the construction site.

Experience and Requirements:

• Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
• GCC Mines & Works Electrical is essential.

• 7+ years previous experience in Electrical Project Management/Engineering within the Mining industry.
• Experience working on a start-up/Greenfields project.
• Excellent English communication skills is essential.
• Ability to lead and mentor a large team of subordinates from a diverse cultural background.
• Remote mine site experience.
• Electrical certification with ECSA.
• Experience in electrical installation of Crushers/Mills/Mining equipment etc.
• Experience in medium voltage and low voltage charging and installations.
