Electrical Engineer - Marine Projects (12-Month Contract)
Location: Simonstown Dockyard
Contract Duration: 1 Year (Mobilization: September 2025)
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret-level Security Clearance required
We are seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team supporting a major marine engineering contract. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with a strong academic foundation and practical experience, looking to grow within a technically challenging and secure environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 7) from an accredited institution
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Registered as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA and progressing toward professional registration
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Access)
- Knowledge of budgeting, project, and financial management principles
- Solid grasp of electrical engineering theory, design principles, applied maths, and physics
- Beginner to intermediate proficiency in:
- AutoCAD and 3D design tools
- Electrical design/simulation software
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ethical, professional, and results-driven mindset
- Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams
- Commitment to quality, deadlines, and customer expectations
