Key Responsibilities
Provide
technical mentoring
to youth trainees on electrical and Solar PV concepts, practical applications, safety practices, and industry standards.
Offer
career guidance and professional coaching
, helping youth to build confidence and align their skills with workplace expectations.
Conduct
weekly mentorship sessions
(minimum 2 hours/week), either virtually or face-to-face.
Support trainees in applying their classroom learning to
real-world energy and electrical projects
, including renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives.
Assist in identifying
skills gaps
and recommending additional learning or resources.
Share industry insights and best practices to prepare trainees for
employment, apprenticeships, or entrepreneurship
.
Provide
feedback reports
on mentees' progress and challenges to programme coordinators.
Requirements
Minimum qualification:
Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
Professional registration/certification
with ECSA, EWSETA, or relevant professional body (advantageous).
At least
5 years' experience
in the electrical/energy sector.
Demonstrated experience in
mentoring, coaching, or training
youth, interns, or apprentices.
Strong understanding of
electrical safety standards, codes, and best practices
.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to conduct sessions
virtually (via Zoom/Teams)
or
in person
, depending on programme needs.
Terms of Engagement
Contract Type:
Hourly-based mentorship engagement.
Hours:
Minimum of

Location:
Hybrid - virtual sessions and/or physical sessions at training sites or workplaces.
Remuneration:
