We are seeking an experienced

Electrical and Instrumentation Quantity Surveyor

with a strong background in the mining, processing plants and infrastructure industries. The ideal candidate will have

5 years to 10 years of experience

in quantity surveying and cost control for medium to large projects, covering

Electrical and Instrumentation works

. The role requires strong analytical, commercial, and contractual skills to prepare/compile estimates and tenders, manage project costs, monitor budgets, control variations, and support management with accurate financial and risk insights throughout the project life cycle.

Qualifications and Experience:



Bachelor's degree/B-Tech in

Quantity Surveying or Construction Management

. Minimum of

5 years of proven experience

as an E&I Quantity Surveyor Strong knowledge of

Electrical & Instrumentation disciplines

. Experience in

mining, process plants, and infrastructure projects

is preferred. Strong knowledge of

NEC 3 contract

. Proficiency in

MS Excel

,

AutoCAD

, and

cost management software

(e.g., Candy). Excellent analytical, contractual, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and deliver within strict deadlines. Prepare

accurate cost estimates

, compile

meticulous tender documents

, skilfully handle tender process and engage in

contract negotiations

.
Desired Candidate Profile

Manage the overall

cost structure

for materials, labour, plant, and machinery across all E&I disciplines.

Track

ongoing project costs and budgets

against tender estimates, highlighting variances and proposing corrective actions. Monitor

manpower utilization

and productivity against project schedules and targets, reporting deviations and associated risks. Identify and evaluate

project risks and opportunities

to support proactive cost and performance management. Prepare and present detailed

monthly cost reports

summarizing committed costs, forecasted expenditures, and earned value analysis.

Manage changes and variation orders

, ensuring accurate valuation, documentation, and timely submission to the client. Prepare and issue

contractual letters and notices

in coordination with the project team to protect the company's commercial interests. Prepare and submit

interim payment applications

, verify site progress, and follow up on payment collection. Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications to verify quantities and ensure alignment with project requirements. Perform detailed

quantity take-offs

and prepare

Bill of Quantities (BOQ)

in coordination with engineering and planning teams. Analyze and validate

subcontractor and supplier quotations

, ensuring compliance with technical and commercial requirements. Support

procurement activities

by providing accurate cost data, assisting in negotiations, and preparing cost comparisons. Participate in

post-contract activities

, including progress valuations, claims, and final account preparation. Contribute to

value engineering exercises

and cost optimization studies to enhance project profitability. Maintain updated knowledge of

local market rates, materials, and suppliers

to support cost benchmarking and future tenders.

Pay: R60000,00 - R75000,00 per month
