Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Action plant Start-up
• Oversee all aspects of water system operation, maintenance, and monitoring.
• Assist in repair, testing and disinfection of water mains.
• Routinely clean water mains
• Keep water systems plans up to date.
• Take samples of the water to be analysed in the laboratory.
• Responsible for maintaining the plant hygiene (Balance Tank, DAF, MBR, Anoxic and Aeration Dam).
• Perform basic administrative tasks.
• Monitor and adjust computerized SCADA system and process control software - only with process supervisor's approval or senior management a major change can be implemented, normal day to day adjustments to maintain water quality is within the scope of a supervisor and operators.
• Unblock lime and polymer blockages.
• Inspect drains on an hourly basis.
• Clean screens and filters.
• Ensure total confidentiality of all information, internal and external, pertaining to the business of the Company.
• Add chemicals for water treatment.
• Take readings and inspection of water samples.
• Cleaning separator and keeping lids closed.
• Do plant inspections and report any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Housekeeping in and around the control room, electric pumps and floors.
• Do basic pipe fitting.
• Monitor all the clean water tanks on site.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 or Level 2 Process Controller qualification.
• Ability to prepare and submit operational reports.
• Required to work outside normal working hours, shifts, during emergencies and planned overtime.
• Be responsible, reliable, and work independently or in a team.
• Good organizational skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy.
