Job Purpose:

To provide training and support to the academic staff and students to promote adoption and development of online mediation skills in the Learn space to enhance the student learning experience. Furthermore, Educational Technologists are required to troubleshoot system errors as they arise.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Implementation of LMS decisions that support strategic imperatives.
• Support and development of lectures on Campus
• Quality assurance of Advtech experience on campus
• Promoting online engagement culture on campus
• Conducting research

Minimum Requirements:

• Tertiary degree or Postgrad with IT course in curriculum, as well as additional IT related certifications.
• Undergrad, with PGDip, and IT related courses are also acceptable, as well as educational courses. MOOCs in Education & IT.
• Blackboard Certification Level 1 - 3 (in house training, so not necessarily certified by BB)
• IT Skills beyond the "Office" scope
• Certified Blackboard Trainer
• 2 Years Educational Technologist Experience.
• 1 Year Lecturing/teaching experience.

• Knowledge and understanding of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework.

Knowledge and understanding of the Teaching and Learning theory and interventions. * The ability to provide student support services.

• The ability to work with and learn more about digitalized academic platforms.
• The ability to cope with a frequently changing environment and to adapt to evolving situations.
• Ability to adhere to rules and strictly follow work regulations.
• Deadline-orientated and can work well under pressure.
• Ability to manage time effectively.
