Job Description

Job Purpose




The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government has opportunities for suitably qualified and competent individuals to render an effective and efficient holistic educational service to all the learners at Child and Youth Care Centres.

Minimum Requirements




An appropriate 3-year post-school qualification; Registration with SACE as a professional educator; A minimum of 3 years experience as an Educationalist/ Educator; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.

Key Performance Areas




Implement Educational Programmes at Facilities in Accordance with Curriculum Requirements and Departmental Legislation; Implement facility policies and procedures to enhance safe care/custody and development of residents (MDT, incident reporting, behaviou management, unauthorised articles etc.); Perform administrative functions; Continuous Professional Development; Keep up to

date with new developments in the social work and social welfare fields.

Remuneration



R 397 116 - R 467 790 per annum (Salary level 8)





Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

Notes




Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to do a practical and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
