Our client is a dynamic and ambitious family owned and run export trading business based in Durban. We have been in existence for the last 51 years with a third generation in place. We specialize in the export of FMCG's, fruit and vegetables, meat, wines and building materials to over 55 countries throughout the world. We have subsidiary businesses in various other countries that we are involved in.

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Publishing (DTP) Operator to join their established team. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, excellent technical skills, and proficiency in desktop publishing software. The DTP Operator will be responsible for formatting, layout, and design of various documents, facilitating the finished art process in the team. Ensuring they meet quality standards and client requirements. This role requires a high level of precision, creativity, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines. This position is available immediately and based at our Durban office in Morningside.

Key responsibilities include the following:

• Ability to follow corporate identity guidelines of various brands
• Format and layout various types of documents, including brochures, presentations, trade show material and other marketing materials.
• Edit and manipulate images, graphics, and other visual elements to enhance the overall design of documents.
• Ensure consistency in design elements, typography, and formatting throughout all documents.
• Proofread documents to identify and correct errors in grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
• Maintain an organised file management system to effectively manage and store project files.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in desktop publishing software and techniques.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
• Manage Adobe CC Libraries

Experience and Qualifications:

• A diploma in graphic design or visual communications
• Proven experience as a Desktop Publishing (DTP) Operator or similar role.
• Excellent Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator experience
• A strong portfolio of current work
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work methodically and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with HTML & JavaScript
• Experience managing and scheduling email workflows.
