Position Title: Driver - Code 10 with valid PDP
Department: Warehouse
Location: Johannesburg
Reporting to: National Warehouse Manager/Warehouse Supervisor
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to various destinations together with drawing of cargo from the airlines and documentation to/from Port Health/Plant etc.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
Safe transportation of goods to and from destinations, ensuring timely delivery.
Drawing of cargo from the airlines timeously and any problems/challenges immediately escalated to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Daily completion of vehicle inspection checklist and submission thereof to the WarehouseSupervisor. All repairs and maintenance are to be immediately reported and actioned.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, maintaining a high standard of driving etiquette. No illegal stops and the vehicle/truck should not be utilised for personal use.
Load and unload goods as required, ensuring secure and safe handling. Verifying of loadagainst cartage advice/delivery note.
Communicate effectively with the Warehouse Supervisor or representative to co-ordinate delivery/collection/draw schedules.
Posting/updating on Company WHATSAPP groups.
Maintain a clean, organised and road worthy vehicle.
Use navigational technology as and when required. Refuel vehicle and the management of fuel card ensuring that the correct odometer reading is taken.
Provide excellent customer service addressing any delivery related queries or concerns. Taking of pictures when loading and offloading of cargo.
Verifying that all the relevant documentation are on hand prior to leaving the warehouse. Verifying the cargo against the documentation to ensure that all is in order.
Safety - adherence to the company's safety regulations and reporting of any incidents to the Warehouse Supervisor and National Warehouse Manager.
Assist in maintaining security within the warehouse and reporting of any non-conformances.
Follow all the rules, regulations and procedures of the Company.
Any other lawful instruction as given by the Warehouse Supervisor, National Warehouse Manager or any other authorised Representative.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Secondary: Grade 12/Matric
Licenses: Valid Driver's License (Code 10 with valid PDP) with clean record.
Other: Proven experience as a Driver in the logistics or freight forwarding industry preferred.
Other: Overtime and night shifts depending on operational needs.
