Our client is seeking an Underground Mining Training Officer to develop and deliver specialized training programs for the Underground Core Drilling team. This role ensures that all personnel comply with industry standards, mine regulations, and safety protocols while enhancing operational efficiency and workforce competency.
Responsibilities:

• Design and conduct in-depth technical, operational, and safety training programs for underground drilling teams through both theoretical and hands-on sessions.

• Ensure all training aligns with industry standards, mine-specific regulations, and fosters a strong safety culture.

• Integrate risk assessment and hazard management principles into all training modules.

• Assess trainees' skills and knowledge through evaluations.

• Continuously update and refine training materials to reflect industry advancements and regulatory updates.

• Manage and maintain an online training document system for improved accessibility and learning efficiency.

• Keep accurate training records and track trainee progress using Learning Management Systems (LMS).

• Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and develop targeted training solutions to prevent recurrence.

• Collaborate with management, clients, and regulatory bodies to assess training needs and align programs with organizational objectives.

• Ensure trainees gain proficiency in operating specialized core drilling equipment.

• Incorporate simulation technologies to enhance hands-on learning experiences.

• Evaluate training effectiveness and implement improvements to enhance workforce competency, safety, and operational efficiency.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Grade 12 / N3 or equivalent.

• Trade certificate or Underground blasting ticket.

• Must be a registered Assessor.

• Certification in the training and development (advantageous)

• Relevant National Diploma in training (advantageous)

• 5 years' experience as a Training officer in Underground mining environment.

• Strong knowledge of drilling equipment.

• Valid EB / Code 8 Drivers License.
