Job Description


Fedics is currently in search of suitable candidates to consider for a District Manager - (Business and Industry) vacancy to oversee the daily workings of the organisation operations within the designated industries. The successful candidate will be responsible to maintain a high-quality standard of organisations deliverables in line with site specific SLAxe2x80x99s, responsible to manage client relations, perform site visits, support and develop the site management. To ensure sites are managed according to budgeted costings and growth targets and to ensure all standards are adhered to in line with best business practices.

Duties & Responsibilities xe2x80xa2 Take full responsibility and management of all units under this portfolio

  • Relationship building with the client and customers on a daily basis (essential)
  • Must be able to work long hours and over weekends should there be a need
  • Provide effective leadership to catering managers and their team of catering staff
  • Ensure the company's image is projected through excellent client relationships, quality of service, product and productivity
  • Develop medium and long-term strategies to grow the business in conjunction with the operations manager
  • Comply with the divisions budgetary requirements within the financial guidelines
  • Understand and maintain all financial aspects of the business - budgeting, forecasting
  • Understand and implement company standards, policies and procedures in line with legislation
  • To work and operate in a stressful environment and perform well under pressure
  • Ensure quality control is in accordance with the company standards
  • Oversee cash management (control of debtors, stock checks and cash checks etc.)
  • Effect profit growth in all areas of responsibility
  • Meeting agreed deadlines with regards to submission of forecasts, profit and losses etc.
  • Human resources management (including I.R., training and development) and performance management
  • Operational standards - Maintain and improve on operational standards as agreed
  • Meeting all quality / star grading standards within the areas of responsibility, as per Companies grading checklist and KRAs within the performance management scheme
  • Be innovative and implement new ideas
  • Ensure consistency of staff uniforms
  • Responsible for month sign off
  • Ensure that the Catering Manager is developing
  • Maintain the Companies core values
  • Ensure smooth running of Biometrics system
  • May be required to assist with any other duties that may be outside scope of responsibility
Skills and Competencies
  • Experience in managing large compliments of people and a diverse client portfolio xe2x80xa2 My Market/Tsebo Source & Menutec books xe2x80xa2 Drivers licence & own vehicle xe2x80xa2 Experience in managing staff and a number of contracts xe2x80xa2 Knowledge of Food safety regulations xe2x80xa2 Operational Standards: Performance management, financial analysis, computer proficiency & human resources xe2x80xa2 Entrepreneurial skills: Strategic management, outcome focus & productivity xe2x80xa2 Interpersonal Skills: Client/customer interface, managing group process, communication skills (verbal and written) & organizational skills xe2x80xa2 Innovative approach to streamlining systems xe2x80xa2 Familiar with Tsebo accounting systems and processes xe2x80xa2 Knowledge of cost centres xe2x80xa2 Excellent client relations skills xe2x80xa2 Proven financial skills xe2x80xa2 Knowledge of legislation relevant to the industry xe2x80xa2 Attention to detail, with the ability to multi - task xe2x80xa2 Client service orientated xe2x80xa2 Able to handle large multi-sites xe2x80xa2 Sound business acumen and excellent problem solving skills xe2x80xa2 Experience in the food service industry essential xe2x80xa2 Flexibility with respect to working hours xe2x80xa2 Ability to build and maintain a motivated team in a dynamic environment
Qualifications
  • Minimum Matric xe2x80xa2 Relevant tertiary qualification and/or Catering environment experience xe2x80xa2 Knowledge of legislation relevant to the Catering industry xe2x80xa2 Minimum of 3 years management experience in similar role
