Distribution Centre Manager - Longmeadow, JhbLocation: Longmeadow, JohannesburgCompany: NestleQualification: Relevant Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain/ Logistics or/an OperationsExperience: Minimum of 5 years or more experience in Distribution, Warehouse and Transport and/or senior Supply Chain role where they have managed a large team within FMCG or ManufacturingClosing Date: 12 January 2024 Position SummaryManage the staff of the warehouse to safely deliver the optimum service level performance for the most cost-effective outcome.Be accountable for the development of people and the provision of a competitive and compliant distribution center operation that will meet the requirements of all business units, customers and consumers A day in the life of a Distribution Center Manager:Set adequate target values for warehousing service and cost KPIs and keep continuously tracked KPIs close to the target values by:Ensuring the delivery of excellent service at minimum cost to serve driving governance around the planning of customer loads to avoid loss on saleCorrectly setting and monitoring of cost, service and compliance KPIxe2x80x99sManaging the labor in the DC - Solving adequately any occurring issue in DC operationsEnsuring, in collaboration with regional and national stakeholders, that a suitable distribution operation is definedImplement, managing, monitoring, meeting and/or exceeding SHE, Quality, CARE and Best Practices obligationsImplementing NCEAdapting to changes in the logistics and/or market environment by ensuring an adequate level of flexibility of structures and processesEnsure cross functional alignment through pro-active communication, transparency, and collaboration with internal and external customersDrive cost saving initiatives to improve performance and cost of the warehouse operation. Also ensure the correct construction, control and management of the budget for warehousing (cost budget for warehousing and possible investment requirements)Negotiate contracts as per Procure to Pay process and establish a sound relationship with the service providers including conflict managementInfluence Distribution Management and Customer Service in order to continuously improve service and cost through:Regular communication that will keep customers and CS updated to manage proactivelyCollaboration with Customers and other functional departments (customer service, transportation, factories) to ensure freshness and avoidance of bad goodsSelection of the right people, constant engagement, motivation and management of the team.Ensure maintenance of the building and warehouse equipmentAssist Value Stream Design which will identify areas of improvement. Support and help LEAN roll out, ensuring that a continuous improvement culture is developed and sustained What will make you successfulRelevant Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain/ Logistics or/an OperationsNot less than 5 years relevant and successful operational experience in a leadership role at market/ business environment.
