Summary
Our client, a privately owned boutique optical practice based in the Northern Suburbs, has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and professional Optical Dispenser to join their close-knit team. This well-established practice is known for its personalised patient care, welcoming environment, and strong internal support structure.
The ideal candidate will be a confident, people-focused individual who takes pride in precision, presentation, and service excellence. They will play a key role in supporting both the clinical and administrative functions of the practice while delivering an exceptional patient experience.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Fluency in both Afrikaans and English
• A warm, professional, and well-spoken manner
• Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for people
• Own reliable transport
• Excellent attention to detail
• Sound clinical knowledge and dispensing skills
• A structured, admin-oriented approach to work

Working hours:

• Weekdays: 09h00 - 17h30 / 18h00
• Saturdays: 09h00 - 14h00 (alternating)
• One weekday off for every Saturday worked
• Occasional public holidays may be required (09h00 - 13h00), with time off in lieu

Description

• Assist clients in selecting the perfect eyewear and lenses based on their specific needs and preferences.
• Provide accurate measurements and fitting to ensure optimal vision correction.
• Offer expert advice on lens materials, coatings, and frames, taking into consideration style, comfort, and functionality.
• Collaborate with optometrists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care.
• Maintain inventory and order eyewear products as needed.
• Conduct repairs and adjustments on eyewear, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in optical technology.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualification as an Optical Dispenser.
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end practice.
• Exceptional knowledge of various lens options, frames, and optical products.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organisational abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Tech-savvy with experience in using optical software and tools
