To safely transport, load, offload, deliver, and collect generators and related equipment to and from designated job sites. The role ensures timely dispatch, proper handling of generators, and adherence to company safety standards and client requirements.
Deliver and collect generators, fuel, cables, and other related equipment to assigned destinations.
Ensure all dispatches leave on time and follow the planned route schedules.
Assist with loading and offloading generators using appropriate lifting techniques or equipment.
Conduct site-to-site movements of generators as requested by operations.
B. Vehicle & Equipment Safety
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and generator equipment.
Ensure the vehicle is clean, roadworthy, licensed, and compliant with company standards.
Report any damages, faults, or maintenance issues immediately to the supervisor.
Secure equipment properly before transport to prevent damage.
C. Site Operations
Ensure generators are placed in designated safe areas at client sites.
Assist technicians with basic positioning of generators, cable management, or connecting fuel lines where required.
Follow all site safety rules, PPE requirements, and access control procedures.
D. Documentation & Records
Complete trip sheets, delivery notes, job cards, and fuel logs accurately.
Obtain client signatures for all deliveries and collections.
Submit all paperwork daily to dispatch or administration.
E. Customer Service
Conduct yourself professionally when interacting with clients and site personnel.
Communicate delays, site challenges, or additional client requests to the supervisor promptly.
3. Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Valid driver's license (Code 10/14 depending on truck type).
Valid
PDP
(Professional Driving Permit).
Dangerous Goods certificate (advantageous depending on the generators' fuel).
Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a driver in logistics, construction, or generator-related operations.
Ability to operate lifting equipment (pallet jacks, tail lifts, cranes) is an advantage.
4. Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of road safety and defensive driving.
Ability to read maps, GPS, and follow route plans.
Basic mechanical understanding of generators (advantageous).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work long hours, standby, weekends, and public holidays when required.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
5. Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment safely.
Ability to stand, bend, push, and pull during loading/offloading.
Physically fit to work in various conditions (hot, cold, dusty, or noisy environments).
