Key Responsibilities
The Dispatch Supervisor will be responsible for the overall management of the dispatch and receiving process, including but not limited to:
Monitoring truck drivers using tracking systems and ensuring timely communication for updates and issues.
Fleet management, planning, and overseeing the loading of trucks for scheduled deliveries.
Ensuring quality control for all outgoing and incoming freight.
Scheduling delivery routes and coordinating with receiving points for smooth operations.
Monitoring and controlling pricing, documentation, and paperwork related to freight.
Managing inventory control, performing regular stock takes, and ensuring daily inventory management practices.
Receiving and inspecting all incoming goods to ensure quality and compliance.
Troubleshooting and following up on deliveries and addressing any discrepancies or delays in operations.
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of vehicles, staff, and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
Minimum Requirements
The suitable candidate must possess the following qualifications and skills:
Strong leadership ability, with the capacity to effectively manage and lead a team.
Fully bilingual (English and Afrikaans) with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literate with a solid understanding of MS Excel, MS Word, email communication, and inventory management systems.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a dispatch or receiving clerk.
Grade 12 (Matric)
Knowledge of ISO standards and HASSP protocols will be highly advantageous.
A valid driver's license.
