Overview



As a Digital Media Planner, you'll join a passionate team dedicated to crafting media experiences that resonate with consumers across East & Southern Africa. In this pivotal position, you'll blend strategic insight with creative innovation to design and optimize digital media campaigns across multiple renowned brands. Your deep understanding of South African popular culture and digital trends will ensure our strategies remain engaging and effective in a fast-paced, competitive market.

You'll leverage your experience in the FMCG sector to manage and navigate multiple brand identities seamlessly. Beyond execution, you'll guide and inspire strategic decision-making, working closely with a diverse team to foster a culture of creativity and excellence. Your creative thinking will be key in developing and implementing compelling media plans that captivate and convert.

Responsibilities



Strategic Media Planning: Serve as the backbone of our operations by providing well-thought-out media schedules that align with strategic business goals and client needs. Analytical Proficiency: Accurately calculate reach, set costs, and determine volume metrics and KPI targets to optimize campaign performance. Budget Management: Diligently track and manage budgets, raise CE's, and update media schedules, ensuring financial accuracy and accountability. Technical Expertise: Run reach curves and calculate CPM rates across relevant platforms, integrating insights into strategy development. Collaboration: Work closely with Ad Operations and campaign management teams to ensure plans are executed and optimized effectively, functioning as a vital link between strategy, reporting, and operations. Campaign Management: Brief campaigns into the Ad Operations workflow management tool, managing progress from briefing to reporting with precision. Media Relations: Maintain strong relationships with media owners, managing direct campaigns with care and precision to secure optimal value. Continuous Learning: Ensure relevant platform certifications are current, adhering to Publicis training requirements. Reporting and Communication: Keep clients and teams updated on campaign progress through status sheets and regular meetings, ensuring transparency and accountability. Digital Analytics Collaboration: Partner with digital analytics and strategy teams to deliver timely and insightful reports. Value Negotiation: Remain vigilant and proactive in negotiating value for clients, seizing opportunities at every turn. Investment Tracking: Maintain precise records of media investments and forecasts through MEPlan and Powerhub, supporting the Media Investment team. Process Adherence: Meticulously follow internal Buying, Ad Operations, and Power of One account processes to ensure consistency and quality. Team Participation: Engage in team dynamics by contributing to birthday reminders, organizing social events, and identifying content opportunities for our social media pages.



Qualifications



Educational Background: A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

Experience: At least 3 years of digital media planning experience within an agency environment.

Certifications: Up-to-date certifications in Google & Meta certifications, in alignment with Publicis training standards.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in digital media tools, such as MEPlan and Powerhub, alongside advanced Microsoft Office skills.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including English fluency, to articulate insights and strategies effectively.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and numerical abilities to interpret data and inform strategic decisions.

Adaptability: Ability to manage change, collaborate without ego, and work effectively both independently and within a team.

Cultural Fit: Willingness to learn, share knowledge, and engage proactively in a culture that values strategic excellence and diverse perspectives.
