To lead TradeOn's digital and IT strategy, ensuring robust infrastructure, secure systems and innovative technology solutions that support Restaurant Operations and Restaurant Support Centre (RSC) functions. The role ensures alignment with Franchisor technology standards and systems requirements to enable data driven decision making. It plays a critical part in driving operational efficiency, business intelligence and cross functional collaboration across the organisation.
Key Performance Areas (KPAs) & Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Digital Strategy & Transformation
Developing and executing a digital roadmap aligned with business goals.
Champion innovation in restaurant technology and data analytics, while ensuring alignment with Franchisor technology specifications and requirements.
Leading integration of systems across all restaurants and the Restaurant Support Centre for seamless operation.
Continuously evaluating emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
Team Leadership and Development
Leading and mentoring the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability and continuous improvement.
Building digital capabilities across the business, including restaurant teams and support functions.
Managing training and performance of IT staff.
IT Infrastructure and Security
Overseeing all IT infrastructure, including networks, hardware, cloud services and Point of Sale(POS) systems ensuring performance, security and compliance with franchisor technology specifications and integration protocols.
Ensuring cybersecurity protocols, data protection (POPIA compliance) and disaster recovery plans are in place.
Ensuring IT governance policies are implemented and regularly reviewed to maintain compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
Maintaining high system uptime and performance across all locations
Business Intelligence and Data Enablement
Overseeing the Reporting & Insights function to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable insights to stakeholders.
Overseeing the implementation of reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) for operational, financial, and cross departmental reporting and insights.
Driving automation and reporting accuracy to support strategic decisions.
Collaborating with departments to translate business needs into data solutions.
Defining and tracking performance metrics for IT service delivery, digital adoption, and data accuracy to ensure continuous improvement.
Ensuring data governance practices are in place to maintain accuracy, security, and appropriate access
Project and Vendor Management
Leading cross-functional IT projects including system upgrades and integrations ensuring alignment with Franchisor-approved platforms and adherence to required technology standards.
Developing and managing the IT and digital budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and alignment with strategic priorities
Managing vendor relationships, contracts and service level agreements.
Ensuring cost-effective procurement and technology investments.
User Experience and Support
Ensuring responsive and effective IT support for all users across all restaurants and the RSC.
Monitoring service desk performance and implementing continuous improvement.
Promoting user-friendly systems and training to enhance adoption and reducing support dependency
Ideal Requirements
Bachelor's degree in information technology (IT), Computer Science or related field.
5-10 years' experience in IT leadership, preferably in a medium-sized organisation or QSR/Retail environment
Proficient in Microsoft 365, Power BI, SQL, Cloud platforms and POS systems (GAAP).
Excellent understanding of cybersecurity, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and South Africa compliance standards (POPIA, ISO 27001).
Willingness to be available on-call to respond to and manage critical system issues as needed
