An exciting opportunity has become available for a 6-month contract position focussed on the creation of digital design for social media / digital channels and DTP design for below the line / ad hoc print requirements within our Marketing Department. We are offering a position for a freelance creative to make their mark on all and every element of design required to meet the marketing and branding requirements of Tekkie Town. This candidate should be an absolute team player with a creative flair and strong multi-tasking skills with an ability to work within a CI and able to handle pressure and meet deadlines.Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated, passionate about performance and will have the high energy level required for this fast-paced, exciting and dynamic retail environment
Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate/Matric
• Tertiary qualification in Graphic design with a focus on digital design and competencies in DTP

• 3 to 5 years experience as a digital designer within social media, EComm and direct marketing capabilities. Preference to retail experience
• DTP (Desktop Publishing) capabilities
• Design program knowledge proficiency (Adobe Illustrator / InDesign / Photoshop / CorelDraw)
• Proficiency with ECommerce platforms and design requirementsg. Shopify and EComm merchandising requirements e.g. product photography, deep etching, HTML etc.
• Ability to design quickly to meet social media / direct marketing relevant content creation requirements across various social media channels (video creation an advantage)
• Creative flair
• Trend awareness including fashion, product, content creation

• Sound communication and language skills in English
• Knowledge of marketing, advertising and understanding of Document Design

• Create digital content for social media, direct marketing, and other digital media platforms.
• Proven ability to produce MP4 videos for YouTube, Reels, Stories, and other platforms.
• Familiarity with digital platforms including TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
• Experience and clear understanding of print and digital guidelines
• Ability to resize / customer content to different digital channels
• Must be able to interpret briefs and come up with creative concepts for both digital and print platforms including DTP and below the line executions.
• Keeping budget, time and production constraints in mind.
• Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art.
• Internal and external stakeholder management
• Ad hoc responsibilities
