Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Design and Detailing: Perform design and detailing tasks as required for projects.
• Revit, C3D, and Bentley Implementation: Implement and utilize software tools like Revit, C3D, and Bentley for the team's benefit.
• Development of Autodesk Templates and Libraries: Create and maintain Autodesk templates, libraries, and tools to uphold standards.
• Programming in Autodesk: Engage in visual coding and automation activities within Autodesk software.
• Quality Audit: Conduct quality audits on outgoing drawings to ensure adherence to standards.
• Standardization of Drawings: Establish and maintain drawing standardization across projects.
• 3D Model Visualization: Create visualizations of 3D project models for presentations.
• BIM Implementation: Implement Building Information Modeling (BIM) practices as required.
• Autodesk Troubleshooting: Address Autodesk software issues and set up interfaces within respective departments.
• Participation in Technical Discussions: Participate in technical discussions within the office and project delivery meetings.
• Mentoring and Training: Mentor, train, and provide technical support to junior staff members.
• Conceptual and Detailed Design: Conduct both conceptual and detailed design and modeling to prepare technical drawings and documentation.
• Practical and Economical Solutions: Provide practical and cost-effective solutions for project deliverables.
• Deeper Understanding of Modeling Principles: Apply a deep understanding of modeling principles to devise practical solutions to complex problems.
• Expertise Maintenance: Maintain a high level of modeling expertise and engineering knowledge.
• Project Leadership: Lead and supervise projects as required.
• Functional Group Management: Contribute to the overall management and profitability of the functional group.
• Quality Documentation: Ensure that all drawings and documentation meet the highest quality standards.
• Client Satisfaction: Maintain a high level of client satisfaction by delivering quality work.
• Adherence to Standards: Strictly adhere to SMEC's Management System (MS), quality standards, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) procedures.
• Graduate Engineer Introduction: Introduce graduate engineers to in-house standards and practical application of tasks and construction techniques.
• Assist Project Managers: Provide support to project managers with site queries and reporting solutions.
• These responsibilities reflect a comprehensive and versatile role focused on design, modeling, technical support, and project management within an engineering or architectural context.

Recommended qualifications, skills and experience:

• Professional Registration in drawing/ modelling (Autodesk certification preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years in similar position (preferred)
• Some key experience in relevant projects
• Reinforcement detailing for structures experience
• Proficiency in Autodesk, Bentley or discipline specific software essential
