Job Description
Diesel Technician (TRUCKS)
Location: Cape Town (Kraaifontein)
Salary: R17 000 R20 000 Basic (Dependent on Experience)
Type: Permanent | Full-TimeKey Responsibilities:
- Support the Workshop Foreman in maintaining smooth operational workflows
- Perform maintenance and repairs efficiently and accurately
- Record all labour hours, parts, lubricants, and consumables used
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure job cards are accurately completed
- Conduct on-site breakdown support with professionalism and preparedness
- Adhere to workshop systems, safety protocols, and quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and vehicles used
- Mentor apprentices and support skills transfer in the workshop
- Ensure warranty claims follow proper diagnostic protocol (Complaint, Cause, Correction)
- Participate in training and pursue personal development and upskilling
- Matric Certificate
- Diesel Trade Test (completed)
- Minimum 23 years experience in a similar technician role
- Code 14 Drivers License with PDP
- Strong technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude
- Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination
- High attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
