Position: Diesel Mechanic (Yellow Machinery)

Location: Pomona Kempton Park

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

Vehicle Maintenance:

• Perform routine maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles, including trucks and heavy equipment, yellow machinery, generators.
• Conduct inspections to identify and address mechanical issues promptly.

Diagnosis and Repair:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in diesel engines.
• Carry out repairs and replacements of faulty parts with a focus on minimising downtime.

Preventive Maintenance:

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the longevity of vehicles and equipment.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.

Safety Compliance:

• Ensure that all vehicles and equipment comply with safety regulations and standards.
• Conduct safety inspections and implement necessary adjustments.

Collaboration:

• Coordinate with other maintenance and operational teams to optimise workflow.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding repair status and recommendations.

Inventory Management:

• Manage inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring availability for repairs and maintenance.
• Coordinate with procurement to order necessary parts in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a heavy equipment or transportation setting.
• Knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Physical stamina and agility to handle the demands of the job.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Certifications:

• Relevant certifications in diesel mechanics or related field are a plus.
