Diesel Mechanic Heavy Duty Diesel Trucks
Polokwane
Role:
Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks and trailers to manufacturer and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair engines, brakes, electrics, and drivetrains
- Service and repair major truck brands (e.g. Freightliner, Volvo, Scania, MAN, Mercedes-Benz)
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections
- Replace faulty parts and use diagnostic tools/software
- Keep accurate service records and follow health & safety protocols
- Red Seal certified Diesel Mechanic (national trade test)
- 35 years experience on trucks/heavy-duty diesels
- Valid drivers license (Code 10/14) PDP sometimes required
- Able to interpret manuals, use diagnostic equipment, and problem-solve
- Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills
- OEM training is advantageous
- Monday to Friday, with possible overtime/standby
- Workshop, field service, or breakdown support
- Physically demanding; exposure to noise, oil, and heavy lifting
