Job Description

DevOps Specialist required in Centurion, on a hybrid working model (3 days in office) for a 12-month contract within the telecommunications industry. This role is required to contribute to the design, customisation, configuration, development, and deployment of applications and systems within an OSS/BSS environment. The role involves understanding business processes and translating them into application and system landscapes, working closely with Architecture and Solution Design teams. The DevOps Specialist will also focus on increasing operational efficiency, enhancing cost-effectiveness, and managing IT issues.Responsibilities:

• Execute best practice-based design, customisation, configuration, development, and deployment of applications and systems.
• Understand business processes and map them into application/system landscapes.
• Increase operational efficiency and suggest solutions for cost-effectiveness.
• Control costs, plan, implement, manage, and report on cost-effectiveness.
• Manage high-risk IT issues and contribute to policy development.
• Build relationships to manage expectations and share knowledge.
• Engage in cross-functional relationships for work support.
• Contribute to competitive edge through external networking.
• Assess client needs using structured requirements processes.

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma/National Diploma in Information Technology or Engineering.
• Qualification in a technology-related field.
• Competencies in IT Document Standards (URS/FDS/TDS/LLD), Architecture patterns, and Database technologies (Relational/Graph).
• Programming Skills (Java/PL SQL/JavaScript); Integration/Interface Technologies (XML/JSON); Full ETE SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA); Problem Solving; Workflow System Development and Design; Business Process Design; Integrated Development Environments (IDEs).
• Solution Design Methodologies.
