Job Description

Job Summary An established company in the marine and metal fabrication industry is seeking a Designer to join their dynamic team in Montagu Gardens, Cape Town.
The ideal candidate is an intuitive, hands-on designer with approximately 5 years of practical experience in welding, building, or fabrication.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop innovative marine and metal products (masts, structures, components)
Work hands-on with prototypes and fabrication processes
Translate concepts into detailed designs using Autocad and Solidworks
Collaborate with a small, dynamic team of designers and engineers
Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and product quality

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years hands-on design/fabrication experience
Proficiency in Autocad and Solidworks (mandatory)
Experience in welding or building, ideally in boat building or metal fabrication
Diploma in engineering, welding, or draughting is an advantage
Intuitive and innovative; able to create designs from scratch
