Minimum Requirements:

• Matric.
• Possession of personal transportation and a valid Drivers License.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in the role of Draughtsman or a related field.
• Proficient working experience with SolidWorks, or any Nesting Software.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as necessary.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Attend Generate part models, assemblies, and bending drawings.
• Create bills of materials.
• Obtain wiring diagrams from the Electrical Engineer.
• Place orders for sheet metal from the Machine Shop.
• Source cost-efficient components and materials.
• Provide support with illustrations and renderings for marketing and instructional material.
• Submit applications for special bought-out components not in stock.
• Lead new product design projects and provide designs for manufacturing.
• Complete technical data and drawings for the Sales Department.
• Utilise CAD systems for detailed 3D product designs.
• Promote the use of common parts and modularity to minimize part numbers.
• Conduct research and development for new products within the product scope.
• Design new optimized versions of products in the existing portfolio.
• Standardise designs and processes.
• Implement and standardize processes and lead continuous improvement processes.
• Identify and lead process improvement projects.
• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment and hoists using Autodesk Inventor (3D CAD) and Autodesk Vault.
• Coordinate and consult with other workers to design, layout, and detail components and systems, resolving design problems.
• Review and analyse specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs.
• Compute mathematical formulas for detailed specifications.
• Modify and revise designs to correct deficiencies or reduce production problems.
• Design scale or full-size blueprints of specialty items, such as hoist components.
