Mechanical Design Draughtsman - BooysensFull job descriptionDiesel Electric Services is a turnkey energy solutions company with a 30 year track record in the industry. The company designs, builds, installs and commissions a wide variety of power generation and energy products. The company serves a wide range of industries, from telecommunications to mining. The company requires the services of a senior design draughtsman xe2x80x93 mechanical, on a full time basis.Purpose of the role is to design and develop drawings for a wide range of mechanical systems including equipment enclosures, plantroom layouts, containerised equipment layouts, piping systems, generating set base frames, miscellaneous mechanical structures and layouts. Outputs are general arrangement drawings, shop drawings, bill of material. Candidate will also be expected to complete basic engineering calculations and work with design engineers and project managers.Growth opportunities into a managerial position exist, with the department expanding.Qualification:Draughting certificate.Experience:5 years minimum, 10 years preferable.Must have a good understanding of mechanical fabrication and joining processes, sheetmetal, piping fabrication, mechanical assemblies.Skills:AutoCAD.Inventor (beneficial but not required).Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).Attributes:Able to work with little/no supervision.Self-motivated.Able to work under severe pressure.Ability to balance high demand and requests from various departments.Ability to adjust to change in schedules with little notice.Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask.Candidate will report to a Drawing Office Manager and Mechanical Engineering Manager.The position is based in JHB with occasional travel, driverxe2x80x99s license required.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: R35 000,00 - R45 000,00 per monthEducation:Certificate (Required)Expected Start Date: 2024/05/01
