The Department of the Premier, Western Cape, Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to manage internal audits in compliance with the approved internal audit methodology, evaluating the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of governance, risk management and control.
Minimum Requirements
An appropriate 3-year B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification) majoring in Accounting and/or Auditing; A minimum of 3 years internal audit supervisory/management experience (ASD level).
Recommendation
A valid code B driving licence.

Key Performance Areas
Develop an Internal audit plan for the department, consulted with appropriate client management and approved by the audit committee; Issue 100% of internal audit reports in accordance with the approved IA plans, per quarter; Conduct planning and project management on internal audit engagements; Conduct execution and reporting on internal audit engagements; Implement systems to ensure objectives are achieved, quality is assured, and staff are developed; Clear, concise, factual, and informative reporting quarterly to the audit committee and to client executive management on a monthly basis; Consistently comply with the relevant service standards measures in the department's service schedules for internal audit.

Remuneration
All-inclusive salary package of R 896 436 per annum (Salary Level 11)
Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
Notes
Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
