Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the dentist during procedures, prepare patients for treatments, maintain cleanliness and sterilization of instruments, and ensure a smooth and efficient dental experience for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for dental procedures and make them comfortable in the dental chair Hand instruments to the dentist during procedures Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment Take and develop dental X-rays Maintain accurate patient records and update charts as needed Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-operative care Manage inventory and restock dental supplies as needed Schedule appointments and assist with administrative tasks when necessary Ensure the operatory is clean and organized at all times Comply with all health and safety regulations

Qualifications:

High school with diploma or equivalent in Dental Assisting Completion of a Dental Assistant program or equivalent training Current registration with HPCSA Proven experience as a dental assistant is preferred Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Excellent communication and organizational skills A positive, team-oriented attitude and a passion for patient care

Working Conditions:

Clinical environment with frequent interaction with patients May require standing for long periods and wearing personal protective equipment
