Deceased Estate Administrator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Deceased estate administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full administration process relating to Deceased Estates, in terms of relevant legislation and specifically to the Administration of Estates Act; including liaising with executors, heirs, SARS, the Master of the High Court, legal professionals and financial institutions.

Requirements:

Matric plus further education in a legal/accounting field. Experience at a legal/accounting or similar environment. Experience in the administration of deceased estates will be advantageous. The ability to deal with all aspects of deceased estate administration, including the reporting of estates, drafting of L&D Accounts, Reconciliation Statements etc. Exceptional organisational, time management and multitasking abilities. High attention to detail and accuracy Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple estates at varying stages simultaneously Proficiency in using office software and applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Excel etc.) The ability to work accurately and independently but also follow instructions and reporting back to the allocated senior(s).
Duties will include, but are not limited to:

1. The administration of deceased estates, from reporting the estate to finalisation / winding up the estate; including:

identify and collect estate assets; pay debts and liabilities

communicate and follow up with relevant institutions such as banks, brokers, insurance companies, and government departments regarding estate matters.

maintain accurate records of all estate transactions and correspondence

prepare interim and final Liquidation and Distribution accounts and reconciliation statements for approval

2. Liaise with clients, heirs in a professional and respectful manner and provide regular feedback and updates relating to the administration process and progress made to allocated senior(s).
