Job Title: Debtor's Clerk

Our company is a leading player in the automotive industry in South Africa, providing high-quality products and services to our customers. We are currently looking for a skilled Debtor's Clerk to join our team and help us manage our accounts receivable efficiently.

As a Debtor's Clerk in the automotive industry, your primary role will be to ensure the timely and accurate collection of outstanding debts from customers. You will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable ledger, monitoring overdue accounts, reconciling statements, and communicating with customers to resolve payment issues in a timely manner. You will work closely with the finance team to ensure that payment targets are met and that cash flow is maintained at acceptable levels.



Key Responsibilities:



Monitor and manage the accounts receivable ledger Follow up on overdue accounts and ensure timely collection of outstanding debts Reconcile customer statements and resolve any discrepancies Communicate with customers to resolve payment issues and negotiate repayment plans Update financial records and maintain accurate debtors' files Prepare and send out monthly statements to customers Provide regular reports on debtors' aging and cash flow to management Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes Collaborate with the finance team to improve credit control processes and policies


Qualifications and Skills:



Proven experience as a Debtor's Clerk or similar role in the automotive industry Knowledge of accounting principles and practices Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (e.g. SAP, QuickBooks) Strong communication and negotiation skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively Excellent organizational and time management skills A diploma or degree in finance, accounting or a related field is preferred
