Debt Review Administrator

We are looking for a detail-oriented professional to assist in the smooth operation of the Debt Review department. The role covers end-to-end back-office operations, ensuring that all outcomes align with company policies and best practices, while also providing support for administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities

Debt Review

Manage debt review email accounts and ensure timely action. Review, save, and forward debt review documents including Cob's, 17.1/17.2 proposals, acceptances, declines, counters, court orders, and 17.5/17.6/w documents. Draft Paid-Up Letters as required. Ability to draft COB's would be an added advantage. Flag and unflag debt review accounts across various systems. Process refunds for overpayments (credit balances) to debt counsellors or clients. Handle queries from debt counsellors and outsourcing partners efficiently. Manage escalated queries from debt counsellors or outsourcing partners promptly. Assess and evaluate reckless lending allegations from debt counsellors. Review and save documents Flag accounts where applicable. Follow up with administrators regarding payments received or missed.

Core Competencies & Skills

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; multilingual proficiency is a strong advantage. Strong negotiation and influencing abilities, with experience managing sensitive financial discussions. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Solid understanding of the National Credit Act (NCA) and debt collection procedures. Ability to build trust, ask insightful questions, and obtain honest feedback from clients regarding payment behavior. High attention to detail with excellent administrative and data entry skills. Results-oriented and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent. Previous debt review or financial services experience preferred. Customer service experience, ideally in a regulated environment. Flexible and self-motivated.
