TB HIV Care (THC), in existence since 1929, is an internationally recognised non-profit organisation. Purpose of the position:
The purpose of this position is to focus on provincial level support priorisiting program planning and strategic monitoring and management, enabling policy support, capacity building, consolidation and scale-up of best practices across the province.
Minimum Requirements
A relevant degree or diploma
Postgraduate qualification in public health sciences or health information sciences/data analytics/statistics
Minimum of 10 years related experience in health or information system, of which a minimum of 5 years preferably in a supervisory/managerial capacity
Ability to engage with senior NDoH/ECDoH officials
Advanced report writing capabilities
Good understanding of South African Department of Health system, including policies, management and health information systems and structures at national and provincial levels
Sound working knowledge of DHIS, Tier.net and other related health information systems
Power Query for data and extraction and transformation
Power BI Desktop and/or Excel Power Pivot for data modelling and standardized calculations (DAX)
Power BI Desktop and/or Excel Pivot Tables/Pivot Charts for data visualization
Valid driver's license (Code B)
Able to communicate fluently in English and isiXhosa
Clear criminal record
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide provincial level support using data to strengthen Differentiated Care model implementation, Guidelines, tools and process development or optimisation
Integrate and support Operation Phuthuma (OP) activities and continuous quality improvement (CQI) methodology in overarching clinical governance approaches by generating data and share dashboard reports
Conduct a needs assessment and targeted capacity building at provincial level
Coordinate and support other strategic health programmes
Provide technical guidance and support during annual and operational planning
Analyse data/results across a range of dimensions and variables
Use data to inform strategic and operational decision-making
Formulate recommendations for improved health performance based on insights from data
Prepare briefing documents on key health topics for high level engagements
Support the HoD with abstract development and submissions and content development for publications
* Support the office of the ECDoH HoD to maintain an effective bi-directional feedback mechanism for relevant stakeholders
