Position:

CSI Funding Officer

Focus on the Family Africa is a Christian nonprofit organization committed to strengthening families in Africa through care, support and biblical truth. We offer biblically based resources and services that promote family well-being across South Africa and beyond.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated CSI Funding Officer to play a strategic role in securing corporate, foundation, SME and trust-based funding for our ministry. The successful candidate will cultivate relationships with CSI departments, corporate partners, philanthropic trusts, SME's and foundations to secure sustainable funding aligned with our mission to support families, marriages, and children. While in this position, you will be fulfilling the mission of enriching the lives of families, engaging the culture, advocating for life, and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The work is meaningful, the culture is rewarding, and the purpose is eternal.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Funding Development:

Identify, research, and approach corporate CSI departments, foundations, SME's and philanthropic trusts aligned with our mission.

Proposal Writing & Grant Management:

Write compelling, tailored funding proposals, grant applications, and concept notes. Maintain regular reporting and compliance with funder requirements.

Relationship Management:

Build and maintain meaningful relationships with corporate stakeholders, CSI managers, and philanthropic decision-makers including the cultivation and support of new & existing small-medium businesses partners.

Partnership Development:

Proactively explore shared value opportunities and develop partnership offerings that align with donor priorities and our ministry impact areas.

Stewardship & Reporting:

Coordinate donor acknowledgement, communication, and impact reporting with excellence and integrity.

Collaboration:

Work closely with internal local and international teams (donor, communications, programme, finance) to ensure alignment in funding priorities, project costing, and impact metrics.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Fundraising, Sales & Marketing, Development Studies, or related field.

Minimum 5 years' experience in corporate fundraising, CSI engagement, or philanthropic funding within the nonprofit sector.

Proven track record in securing significant funding from corporate donors, trusts, or foundations.

Knowledge of the South African CSI landscape and corporate giving strategies.

Proficient in CRM systems and donor tracking tools.

Competencies and Skills:

Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.

Strong proposal and report writing skills with attention to detail and donor alignment.

Self-motivated, goal-driven, and highly organized.

Passionate about family transformation and the role of the Church in society.

Able to work independently and collaboratively within a ministry-minded team.

Professional, relational, and confident in engaging senior corporate stakeholders.

Comfortable working from our Botha's Hill office and travelling occasionally for meetings and presentations.

Character/Spiritual:

Mature Christian faith, aligned with the mission and values of Focus on the Family.

Lives with integrity derived from biblical values and demonstrates standards of conduct that meet or exceed company and/or legal requirements.

A consistent witness for Jesus Christ and maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Focus.

Adheres to the Standard of Moral Conduct and Statement of Faith.

Upholds Focus on the Family's ministry in prayer.
