Job Summary
Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a National Senior Certificate
• Minimum 3 yearsxe2x80x99 small grain commercial farming experience is essential
• Must have hands-on experience in operating small grain farming equipment
• Experience in the technical, mechanical and construction functions on a farm will be required
• Must have at least an EC 1 Code driverxe2x80x99s license

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Supporting the Farm Production Manager with farming activities.
• Providing support to the production team during all production practices e.g. planting, spraying and harvesting.
• Contributing to a safe and efficient working environment on the farm.
• Operating workshop and farming equipment.
• Taking part in maintenance planning meetings, contributing suggestions and clarifying work required.
• Carrying out work in accordance with the planned maintenance and production practices schedule as issued by the Farm Production Manager.
• Partaking in maintenance post mortems to feedback problems, opportunities and learnings from maintenance activities.
• Partaking in inspection, reporting, upkeep and repairing of identified breakages, damages and leakages.
• Carrying out routine upkeep of the Farm infrastructure and grounds.
• Completing all administration relating to any maintenance activities.
• Where problems have occurred during routine activities, applying the correct problem-solving approach to resolve.
• Where required, requesting additional resources to assist in problem solving or escalate to the Farm Production Manager.
• Assisting fellow team members to resolve problems.
• Operating in a safe manner at all times and identifying unsafe work practices so that these may be corrected.
• Carrying out work according to the work instructions and adhering to appropriate policies and procedures.
• Carrying out housekeeping tasks and applying 5S principles during the execution of duties.
