Job Description


To reduce impairment charge and minimise credit risk for Nedbank Group by following credit collections process while considering client satisfaction and retention.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Business Unit cost saving strategy and mitigate credit risk by adhering to the costs limit and the credit policy guidelines set by management.
  • Manage client expectations and provide feedback by operating within the specified parameters and SLAs and responding to requests and queries timeously.
  • Build and maintain effective internal and external client relationships and inform them of the terms and conditions of facilities granted by advising on credit and application process, training product knowledge, and preparing facility letter.
  • Suggest alternative funding solutions and eliminate impairments and credit loss ratio by making recommendations for alternate credit applications or products and assessing client behaviour on the account.
  • Validate and analyse credit applications and conduct risk assessment of client credit by requesting and assessing serviceability, security, and behaviour of the funding applied for on both internal and external records.
  • Evaluate affordability and credit risk and ensure acceptable risk levels by conducting a financial analysis and analysing application as guided by the risk score card.
  • Assist in handover / take-on process and check the client portfolio by preparing the handover / take-on template and actioning bank report, OTTs, and ERM requests.
  • Keep abreast of legislation and other industry changes and contribute to building of intellectual capital of the team by reading the relevant newsletters, websites, and attending sessions and knowledge sharing with all stakeholders.
  • Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values and contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives and supporting corporate social responsibility initiatives.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and policies and assist in the preparation of the annual and interim review of facilities and ensure compliance to legislation by supporting implementation of new processes, policies, and systems and verifying that the correct security is held and valued and that facilities are linked correctly.
Minimum Experience Level
  • Min 3 Years' Credit Assessment experience in assessing creditworthiness of current and prospective clients.
  • Min 3 years in credit control / risk management environment.
  • Experience in evaluating current and prospective clients financial Statements and credit reports to determine their ability to honor debt obligations.
Requirements
  • NQF Level 6 or Higher in a Financial Management, Accounting or Analysis-related field
