Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Credit Life Claims Consultant
to manage and process credit life insurance claims within a collection's environment. The successful candidate will ensure claims are validated, processed efficiently, and communicated in line with company policies, regulatory requirements, and service-level agreements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
o Receive, review, and process all incoming
credit life insurance claims
.
o Act as intermediary between insurer and Kanga Finance and meticulously relay communication, requests and documentation.
o Verify claim types (death, disability, retrenchment) for accuracy and compliance.
o Liaise with customers, next of kin, and insurers regarding outstanding information and claim progress.
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all claims on the internal collections system.
o Ensure claims are processed within prescribed timelines and escalate delays or discrepancies.
o Reconcile claims' outcomes with account balances, ensuring correct allocation or adjustments.
o Draft and issue claim acceptance/rejection letters in line with regulatory requirements.
o Assist with reporting on claims volumes, values, turnaround times, and exceptions.
o Support internal and external audit processes by providing claim documentation and reconciliations.
o Collaborate with teams, finance, and insurers to resolve queries relating to claims and customer accounts.
o Adhere to company policies, NCR, POPIA, and FAIS requirements.
o Contribute towards and ensure continuous improvement in own and team performance.
Experienced In the following:
o Minimum of 2 years' experience in
claims administration specific to credit life insurance
.
o Proven track record on the processing of
credit life insurance policies
claims processes, and regulatory requirements.
o Proficiency in
MS Office
(Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
o Experience with payments and (or) collections systems.
o Thorough knowledge of contact centre technology.
Skills and competencies
o Proven ability with Credit Life Insurance Claims.
o Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
o Policy, product, and systems knowledge
o Ability to adapt and respond to a complex, fast-paced and pressurised environment
o Excellent attention to detail and quality oriented, team player & service driven
o Very strong administration, technical and industry knowledge
